If you are interested in a career as a Port Moody Fire Rescue Firefighter, you should know that it is a challenging and rewarding profession that requires dedication, courage, and teamwork.
Port Moody Fire Rescue is a progressive organization that provides fire suppression, emergency medical services, technical rescue, fire prevention and public education to the community of Port Moody. As a firefighter, you will be expected to respond to various types of emergencies, such as fires, medical calls, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and natural disasters.
To become a firefighter with Port Moody Fire Rescue, you must meet the minimum qualifications and go through a competitive recruitment process that includes psychometric evaluation, physical tests, interviews, and background checks (including police information check). You must also be willing to work shifts, weekends, and holidays, and maintain a high level of physical fitness and mental resilience.

The following must be submitted as a single document, in addition to your resume document (which may also include a cover letter), at the time of application, as candidates missing required documentation may be disqualified:
- High School transcript
- Post Secondary transcripts
- NFPA 1001 proof of completion with IFSAC/Pro Board Seal
- Driver's License (front and back)
- Driver's Abstract (personal, 5 years, current within 30 days of application)
- British Columbia First Responder License
- Additional documentation to support preferred qualifications (see Application Guide – this is a competitive process that typically attracts a large number of applicants, and preferred qualifications will enhance your application)
