MANAGER, PLANNING & SERVICE DELIVERY

The District West Vancouver’s Transit Department is currently seeking a permanent full-time Manager, Planning & Service Delivery. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Transit, this position will be responsible for:

  • Developing, implementing and managing plans, processes, systems and evaluation criteria to support and engage staff;
  • Developing and implementing plans for new or existing routes and additional trips;
  • Developing and implementing public timetable changes and employee shift assignments;
  • Determining costs and requests for funding;
  • Participating in the planning and supervision of major local events;
  • Responding to public inquiries, requests, complaints and commendations;
  • Building and maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Assisting in the preparation and monitoring of department operating and capital budgets in conjunction with other Transit Management;
  • Providing direction to employees by planning, assigning and supervising
  • Managing dispatchers and operators, along with facility and systems management
  • Representing the Department in employees and labour relations matters; and,
  • Performing other related work as required.



The successful candidate will possess:

  • A degree in a related discipline supplemented by related courses in supervision and management training;
  • Considerable related experience with some supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Thorough knowledge in relevant legislation such as the Motor Vehicle Act, Human Rights Code, Workers Compensation Act, and WorkSafe Occupational Health and Safety Regulations;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to deal effectively with unions, employees, the public, officials, and external agencies; and
  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia.


The preferred candidate will have sound judgment and diplomacy, ability to provide progressive leadership, and aptitude to create an inclusive work environment. 

The successful candidate will be required to supply a police information check and a copy of their credentials.

Position Status:
Exempt – Permanent Full-Time

Hours of Work:
35 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary)

Salary
$104,468 - $117,535 per annum
