Concrete Finisher

The Engineering and Public Works department is pleased to invite applications for two vacant Concrete Finisher roles. If you thrive when working as part of a team and have experience in all facets of concrete forming, laying, finishing, and removing, we want to hear from you!
The core duties of this role involve skilled concrete finishing work in connection with a variety of public works projects such as sidewalk, curb and gutter, foundations, walls and driveways. The successful candidate will exercise some independence as to procedure and may advise other workers or contractors as to the placing or mixing of material. Assignments are received from a superior who checks for workmanship and the completion of desired objectives.
Our ideal candidate has completed Grade 10, has a minimum of three years of general public works experience, which includes one year of experience as a cement finisher and form setter in the construction and maintenance of sidewalks, curbs, pavements and similar installations, plus an appropriate valid and subsisting BC Driver’s License. This position is represented by CUPE Local 374.
