GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE
You will be delivering excellent customer service experiences by performing operational and building service work on an assigned shift in a recreation facility. You will operate ice-making and resurfacing equipment; monitor refrigeration equipment; and perform a variety of semi- skilled building maintenance and minor repair tasks and routine janitorial duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Working knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in ice-making operations.
• Working knowledge of the materials, methods and equipment used in building maintenance and janitorial work.
• Some knowledge of refrigeration equipment operation.
• Ability to operate ice-making and resurfacing equipment and to monitor refrigeration equipment.
• Ability to perform a variety of semi-skilled building maintenance, and minor repair tasks and to perform routine janitorial duties.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision, to ensure that janitorial tasks are completed and to deal courteously and effectively with patrons in ensuring observance of facility rules and regulations.
• Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of simple records related to the work.
• Skill in the use and care of equipment used in the work.

DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Completion of Grade 10 supplemented by training related to the work plus some related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES AND REGISTRATIONS:
Ice Facility Operator Certificate or equivalent and a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a vehicle for NVRC business.
 
All employees will be available to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position.
 
This is an auxiliary on-call position involving shift work including days, evenings and weekends. The hourly pay for this unionized position ranges from $27.67 to $32.52 per hour (2024 rates), plus 12% in lieu of benefits.
