Director of Recreation, Culture and Promotion
($60,900 - $70,000/year)
With the assistance of HMC Management Inc., https://hmcmanagement.net/ Council is seeking the services of a qualified Director of Recreation, Culture and Promotion (DRCP).
Under the direction of the CAO, the incumbent is directly responsible for the management of the Recreation, Culture and Promotion Department, including the coordination of the Grenfell Recreation and Culture Advisory Board and the supervision, oversight and safety of all non-management Recreation and Culture Department staff. The position also provides oversight of any Town contracted service providers in the Town’s recreational facilities which include: the Grenfell Recreation Park Arena, Pool, Campground, Mini- Golf Course, Ball Diamonds, Community Hall, Tourist Booth and the Curling Arena.
Prior community and/or recreation development experience for a municipality or a not-for-profit organization or a minimum of 2 years of experience at a senior level in municipal government is required. Experience in grant research and proposal preparation would be an asset.
Grade 12 plus post-secondary education in Recreation and Community Development, Social Sciences, or other human service disciplines is preferred. However, an equivalency of skills, qualifications and abilities with a related diploma would be considered.
The salary range for the position is $60,900 - $70,000 for the right candidate who meets the Council’s qualifications and expectations. The application deadline is October 09, 2024, and only those candidates selected to be interviewed will be contacted.
