The City of Kelowna is looking for an experienced and dynamic HR Director to join our Senior Leadership Team. As the Director of Human Resources, you will oversee the planning, organization, direction, and evaluation of the human resources and safety functions for the City of Kelowna. You will provide strategic leadership and advice to the Senior Leadership Team on all human resources and safety matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices. You will also be responsible for fostering a positive and respectful work environment that supports the City of Kelowna’s vision, values, and strategic objectives.
What you will bring:
- Post-secondary degree in a related discipline and CPHR or SHRM designation is an asset
- 7 years of progressively responsible HR management experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior managerial capacity.
- Experience within a unionized environment.
- Demonstrated experience providing leadership at a senior management level.
- Experience leading collective bargaining and oversight of labour relations within a large complex organization.
- Knowledge of labour, employment, and human rights legislation and all areas of HR practices.
