Operations Support Analyst
TITLE: OPERATIONS SUPPORT ANALYST

General Accountability
Reporting to the Manager, Operational Support, as an expert PRIME-BC user, the Operations Support Analyst is responsible for assessing the impact of procedural and policy changes on PRIME-BC business processes; coordinating and consulting with clients, vendors and internal technical resources on the development of revised procedures to accommodate changes; and implementing changes independently or as part of a team.
Nature and Scope
Delivers services to clients in accordance with the Service Catalogue; responds to client requests on application functionality
Consults with clients, vendors and internal technical resources on the impact and development of revised procedures to accommodate changes; convenes meetings to discuss issues and initiatives; requests the development of data scripts and arranges for testing and practical applications by client groups
Analyzes the impact of changes in data collection requirements, policies and procedures on PRIME-BC business processes; researches, tests, assesses and documents pertinent information; makes recommendations on the viability of proposed changes
Responsible for supporting system testing for PRIME-BC applications i.e., RMS, CAD, IntelliBook, IntelliScreen, MDT, MRE, etc.; maintains content and updates on PRIME-BC SharePoint, Confluence and Jira site; performs PRIME-BC system maintenance and processes assigned incidents and/or service requests
Implements changes independently or as part of a team; maintains, validates and updates system tables; coordinates with the user community and internal technical resources on changes to system data and to ensure integrity and proper documentation throughout the process
Collaborates with Project Managers as appropriate to provide input on or execute project tasks; may perform planning and coordination tasks for assigned initiatives
Coordinates communications for individual PRIME BC initiatives
Participates in the development and maintenance of a corporate repository for established business processes
Identifies, plans and recommends areas of operational improvement
Performs related work as required or assigned by the Manager, Operational Support
Education, Training and Experience
Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by post-secondary courses related to the work plus must have 3 years’ experience working within the PRIME-BC system, or an equivalent combination training and experience in the field of law enforcement
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of the rules, regulations, policies and procedures governing the work
Knowledge of the methods, practices and procedures related to the operation and administration of police electronic information systems as applicable to the work performed
Knowledge of software applications used in the work
Ability to assess the impact of changes and new requirements on business processes and make recommendations on the viability of proposed changes
Ability to research and test information pertaining to changes
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts, and coordinate and consult with clients, vendors and internal technical resources
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Must obtain and maintain a RCMP Secret Security Clearance
Hybrid work environment – remote and in-office
Occasional travel may be required
Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
Occasional availability to work outside of regular working hours
