Outdoor Sheltering Coordinator

We are looking for an Outdoor Sheltering Coordinator who serves as part of the City’s front-line response to mitigating the visible effects of homelessness across our community, specifically those sheltering outdoors as part of the Bylaw Services Team.. The role participates in and supports meaningful initiatives and partnerships intended to build capacity of community stakeholders, partners, and the public sector system to collectively respond and positively impact the safe and equitable use of public space.. Responsibilities include:

  • Lead planning efforts to develop and operationalize innovative City projects to mitigate the impacts of those sheltering outdoors
  • Assessing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on all aspects of the Outdoor Sheltering Strategy and grant funding / reporting requirements;
  • Monitoring the operation of the designated outdoor sheltering site and coordinating all efforts to address any emerging issues;
  • Coordinating with social / health providers, people with lived experience, and public safety agencies to deliver responsive sheltering solutions
  • Monitoring and managing all service contracts with agencies related to Outreach Services,  hygiene services, personal belonging storage services, and designated day use site operations.
