Senior Active Transportation Planner

Regular Full-Time ($56.33 – $62.50/hour – 2024 Rates)

The Engineering and Public Works department is pleased to invite applications for a newly created Senior Active Transportation Planner position. This role offers the unique opportunity to lead the development of an all ages and abilities active transportation network, positively impacting the community. Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, Capital Projects, the Senior Active Transportation Planner is responsible for providing professional planning support for transportation policy, infrastructure development and contributing senior planning expertise to various division initiatives and programs. This role also provides project management for active transportation projects in support of the District’s Active Transportation Plan.
Our ideal candidate has an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related field, in addition to five years of active transportation experience, which includes public engagement, as well as certification as an Engineer, Applied Science Technologist, Engineer-In-Training, Candidate Member of PIBC, or similar in BC. Also required is possession of a valid and subsisting BC Class 5 Driver’s License, with use of a suitable personal vehicle suitable as and when required. Completion of the Master Municipal Construction Document Association’s Contract Administrator course is considered an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. This position is represented by CUPE Local 374.
