Are you looking for a career opportunity with great potential for growth that will make a direct impact in the community? We are currently hiring for a Transportation Engineer who will play a vital role within our Transportation Division. This role will provide technical and strategic input on divisional initiatives including transportation planning, process enhancements, and policy development.


  • Leads the transportation planning components for land use planning and neighbourhood concept plans, including development of road networks, review of technical analyses, and infrastructure scoping.
  • Prepares technical documentation, including terms of references, memorandums, reports, and presentations.
  • Develops processes, strategies, and manuals to enhance divisional planning and prioritization of projects.
  • Supports implementation and technical reviews of capital plans and programs.
  • Provides recommendations on City policies, procedures, standards, and practices.
  • Collaborates with staff, external agencies, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Attends public information and engagement meetings.
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to engineering staff.


  • Completion of a related degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and a minimum of 5 years of technical/engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Registration as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) in BC, or eligibility for registration is required.
  • Directly related experience within the public sector and/or working as a municipal consultant is an asset.
  • Ability to attend public meetings and/or advisory meetings beyond regular office hours.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to adapt to a wide variety of stakeholders.
