Dog License Canvasser


The City of Delta is looking for auxiliaries for our Dog License Canvasser position. This seasonal work opportunity will be approximately 30 hours per week, including evenings and weekends and runs until September 2024.
 
Dog Licenser Canvassers follow up with Delta residents who have outstanding dog license accounts, educating them on the benefits of a dog license while providing specific bylaw information to the public and recording related information. Dog Licenser Canvassers may have to go door-to-door and sell dog licenses to Delta residents and canvassing routes should they be unable or be unsuccessful at reaching residents via phone or email.

The successful candidate will be motivated, outgoing and friendly with a good attention to detail. Please note that this work is required in all weather conditions.

The successful candidate will have the following requirements:

  • A high school diploma
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service to the public
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Have a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and use of you own personal vehicle is required
  • Available to start immediately and be consistently available until the end of the Labour Day weekend
  • Experience in bylaws and/or animal knowledge an asset

 
The City of Delta provides a competitive salary of $21.39 - $24.97 per hour plus 12% in lieu of vacation leave, benefits, and statutory holidays. Interested applicants are requested to apply online at www.delta.ca/employment to competition #24- 144 EX by June 24, 2024.
