POSITION OVERVIEW:
Surrey Police Service (SPS) has an exciting opportunity for a Multimedia Production Coordinator to join the Communications Section within the Office of the Chief Constable. This individual will capture and edit video and photographic content to support a wide variety of SPS communications, in alignment with the SPS brand.
 
Reporting to the Digital Communications Manager, our successful candidate will provide creative and technical skills to create videos and photos for social media, police training, recruiting campaigns, livestream productions, and more. Their work will include coordinating and producing video for SPS initiatives and projects, completing photography requests, developing storyboards and scripts, editing videos and photos, and maintaining the photo library and video archives in SharePoint. This role will involve significant work and collaboration with other SPS Bureaus and Sections to develop video and photography projects from conception to final product.
 
This position will require an experienced videographer/photographer with excellent technical skills in video production and photography, an eye for detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Our incumbent will also have the proven ability to develop creative concepts and storyboards to tell stories in alignment with the SPS brand. They will be customer-focused and will thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will possess a diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in visual journalism, filmmaking, videography, photography, or a related field plus 3 years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
 
The incumbent is required to have strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premier Pro, After Effects, and Adobe Audition or another specified professional video editing software as well as a strong knowledge of videography and photography techniques (composition, lighting, sound) and
 
cameras, lenses, and flashes. The successful candidate will have experience writing, filming, and editing videos with simple effects, and be experienced in photography and photo editing. This individual must also have the ability to operate, configure, and set up video and other production equipment, and be able to lift, move and carry equipment of varying weights.
 
This postion may require working a flexible work schedule which includes the potential for evenings and weekends.
 
This position is unionized represented by CUPE Local 402 and works a 21-hour/week. The hourly rate for this position is $35.58-$39.34 based on 2024 rates.
