POSITION OVERVIEW:
Surrey Police Service (SPS) has an exciting opportunity for a Network Analyst 2 to join our Investigations Bureau unit. This position will be critical as Surrey Police Service builds out the information technology infrastructure and support systems to better connect and protect our police officers through our state- of-the-art IT systems and solutions, on our road to police of jurisdiction.
Reporting to the Infrastructure and Operations Manager, the Network Analyst 2 will be part of a collaborative and responsive IT team responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance in the management of our network including but not limited to testing, analyzing, installing, maintaining, and supporting networks. Our successful candidate will also perform technical analyses of software, hardware, and transmission facilities using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient network operations. With a keen eye for detail, the Network Analyst monitors data traffic and controls network resource performance to ensure high quality transmission, assessing risk and responding to a variety of situations and problems with varying degrees of complexity and urgency.
Our successful candidate will be highly organized and solutions-focused with an ability to think critically and efficiently. Effective communication, both verbal and written, will be key as this position will be responsible for responding to clients and troubleshooting problems, documenting procedures and IT policies, and making presentations with recommendations on risk mitigation strategies and advancing our technological footprint. Finally, our candidate will thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment with an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with users, team members, and key stakeholders.
APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field by a recognized educational institution supplemented by 2+ years' work experience in a similar position, preferably within a policing and/or public sector organization. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
*Candidates with experience with Palo Alto, Cisco LAN/WAN and Wireless technologies; and CCNA/CCNP certifications will be given preference.
This position is unionized represented by CUPE Local 402. The salary range for this position is $44.81/hr-$50.78/hr based on 2023 Rates.
