Scope 
The City of Surrey’s Recreation Division aims to build healthy communities where all people are active and engaged for life. As part of that commitment, we’re looking for program instructors to lead Aquatics Leadership and First Aid classes.

Employment Status 
Non-union Instructor – Auxiliary

Responsibilities 
Independently instruct aquatic leadership and first aid courses such as Swim Instructor, National Lifeguard, Standard First Aid, and any related re-certification clinics.
 
You will be teaching youth and adults in various City facilities and be:

  • Sharing your knowledge and passion about water safety.
  • Providing an engaging and active learning environment for your students.
  • Providing great customer service to all patrons in our City facilities.
  • Inspiring others to become lifeguards.


Qualifications 
Successful candidates must possess excellent leadership and organizational skills. They must be able to work evenings and weekends and teach classes in a variety of City of Surrey facilities.
 
Candidates must hold at least one of the following awards and must be current at the time of hire.

  • Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Trainer.
  • Lifesaving Society First Aid Instructor.
  • Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Instructor.
  • Red Cross First Aid Instructor.

 
Applicants under consideration will be required to consent to a Police Information Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
 
Wage: $26.63/hour
