Building Inspector

The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako is seeking a qualified person to fill the position of Building Inspector. The Building Inspector duties involve undertaking the day-to-day work associated with implementing the Building Bylaw, including the review and issuance of building permits and performing building inspections under the direct supervision of the Senior Building Inspector. The position also involves some Bylaw Enforcement duties associated with enforcing building and land use planning regulations.

The Regional District is looking for an individual that has a working knowledge of the BC Building Code and building practices and procedures and has the ability to attend training and pass the exams necessary to meet Provincial qualification requirements for a Building Official. The Regional District is open to considering applications from applicants with a strong construction background that have the ability to be trained as a qualified Building Inspector. The position requires a motivated and solutions oriented individual with exceptional communications skills.

The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako provides local government services to a large area of more than 77,000 square kilometers of scenic mountains, rolling hills, lakes, and rivers.
