CERAMICS STUDIO TECHNICIAN – TEAM LEADER

(Up to 2 Casual Positions)
 
The District of Saanich is seeking up to two Ceramics Studio Technician Team Leaders to provide direction and support for programs at The Arts Centre at Cedar Hill Recreation Centre. The successful candidates will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the ceramics studio including firing and operating all kilns, mixing and maintaining glazes and supplies, supervising the delivery of ceramics programs and services, and ensuring that the program is operating safely and effectively. Successful candidates will demonstrate knowledge in technical aspects of making ceramics and safe procedures for managing a ceramics studio. They will demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills and possess skills to assist studio users as required. Testing will be conducted.
 
Requirements include completion of Grade 12; two years experience working in a ceramics studio and teaching; Emergency First-Aid and CPR “C” and AED Certification; and a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (PIC-VS).
 
The successful candidates will work varying shifts including days, evenings and weekends. Weekend availability is an asset. Applicants will be asked to provide their availability.
