Position Overview
If you are looking for an opportunity that is dynamic and allows you to be flexible and manage your own time, the permanent, on-call Security Clearance Specialist – RCMP position with the City of Kamloops may be the job for you! In this role you get to meet and interview a variety of people and support the RCMP through the RCMP Enhanced Reliability Security clearance process. You will be supporting the City and RCMP detachment in the selection process for those deemed suitable for an RCMP Enhanced Reliability Security clearance. Apply today to join our team.
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school or its equivalent.
- Completion of basic training from a Canadian Police Training Institution.
- Minimum five years’ recent experience in operational policing, including conducting investigations, report writing, and interviews.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain and maintain RCMP Secret Security Clearance. Please note, if you are unable to obtain or maintain an RCMP Reliability Security Clearance, your employment with the City will be terminated.
For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. This position will receive 14% in lieu of all benefits, vacation, stat holidays, and health time. This is a CUPE local 900 position.
