Rate of Pay:
$41.80
Hours of Work:
37.5 hours per week
Pager Pay:
For each working day the pager is carried by the designated employee, he/she will receive 2 hours of additional pay at their regular rate. For each non-working day the pager is carried by the designated employee, he/she will receive 3 hours of additional pay at their regular rate of pay.
On Call Pay:
4 hours pay at regular rates of pay or actual time worked at applicable overtime rates, whichever is greater.

JOB DESCRIPTION
WATER DISTRIBUTION – LEVEL III
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Water Treatment and Distribution Working Foreperson, this position’s primary focus is the operation and maintenance of all aspects of the District’s water distribution system with a secondary focus of assisting, as required, within the District’s
water treatment plant.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assists in the training of new employees.
- Operates and maintains all water distribution and treatment infrastructure in a manner to minimize health risks and environmental concerns.
- Performs maintenance and repair functions on the water system including pressure reducing stations, pumps, reservoirs, valves, pipes, SCADA, water meters and hydrants.
- Performs water quality sampling as required.
- Oversees the Districts cross connection control program.
- Assists with Capital renewal/ improvement projects planning.
- Responds to call-outs for emergency maintenance and repair work.
- Attends professional development training as directed and to maintain EOCP licensing.
- Maintains courteous and professional interactions with the public, user groups and District employees.
- Preforms meter reading
- Carries a pager and respond to call-outs, performs other related duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY
- Completion of Grade 12 High School Diploma.
- Water Distribution Level III.
- Water Treatment Level I.
- Preferences to candidates with 2 or more years operating a Class III water distribution system.
- WHIMIS.
- Confined Space Entry.
- Chlorine Handler.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Occupational First Aid Level 1.
- Cross connection control tester certification.
- Experience with SCADA and computer applications.
- Ability to report, in person, to the North Cedar Improvement District within a timeframe no greater than thirty (30) minutes from receipt of call-in when carrying the pager.
