JOB DESCRIPTION
 WATER DISTRIBUTION – LEVEL I                                                                                           
 
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Water Treatment and Distribution Working Foreperson, this position will assist the Water Distribution Operator Level III when required and will assist with
 meter reading, pager duties and vacation coverage.                                                           

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Assists with maintenance and repair functions on water systems including pressure reducing stations, pumps, reservoirs, valves, pipes, SCADA, water meters and hydrants.
  • Assists with mowing and maintenance around reservoirs, wells, and hydrants.
  • Assists with water quality sampling as required.
  • Responds to call-outs for emergency maintenance and repair work.
  • Attends professional development training as directed and to maintain EOCP licensing.
  • Maintains courteous and professional interactions with the public, user groups and District employees.
  • Preforms meter reading.
  • Carries a pager and respond to call-outs, perform other related duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY

  • Completion of Grade 12 High School Diploma.
  • Water Distribution Level I or Operator in Training.
  • Water Treatment Level I
  • WHIMIS.
  • Confined Space Entry.
  • Chlorine Handler.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1.
  • Ability to report, in person, to the North Cedar Improvement District within a timeframe no greater than thirty (30) minutes from receipt of call-in when carrying the pager.
