PARK ATTENDANT - GOLF
(Temporary, Full-Time)

The West Vancouver Parks Department is now accepting applications for a Temporary Full-Time Park Attendant. The primary duties in this position will be comprised of a variety of tasks including: golf grounds maintenance, mowing, line trimming, sand trap maintenance, aeration, and ride on equipment.
The work for this position is considered manual work, requiring effort and stamina. The successful candidates may also be required to assist staff with: park construction; sports fields, and grass areas; horticulture; and other related duties as operationally required.
Preferred Applicants will have:
- Detailed knowledge concerning safe use of landscape maintenance equipment specific to turf and golf course operations;
- Detailed knowledge of agronomic practices for golf courses;
- Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to permit the performance of manual outdoor work in all types of weather;
- An interest in Parks and Golf operations and a desire to learn;
- Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver’s License for the Province of BC; and
- Experience working in turf and golf grounds maintenance would be considered an asset.
During the assessment process, successful candidates will be asked to submit a Driver’s Abstract from ICBC. These positions are expected to be required into the early fall. Candidates must be available for the duration of this period. The length of these assignments will be dependent upon operational requirements.
The successful candidate will be required to supply an acceptable police information check and a copy of their credentials.

Hours of Work:
40 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary)
Starting Rate of Pay:
$27.45 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits
This position has a pay structure with three steps increase after certain hours.
