The purpose-driven work you’ll be part of
As the CPIC Operator, you’ll work as part of a team responsible for CPIC record transactions and entries, ensuring the completeness, currency and validity of CPIC records, as well as perform work related to police criminal record dispositions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Review police occurrence files, release documents and JUSTIN sentencing documents in order to ensure that the required information is entered on CPIC accurately as well as adhering to policies/procedures.
  • Operate PRIME, CPIC, JUSTIN and related computer programs in your review of data.
  • Apply a variety of resources (i.e.  Criminal Code of Canada; Provincial Statutes; Sentencing Conditions etc.) into your CPIC entries.
  • Maintain files, documents and other materials/resources as required.
  • Liaise with Police Officers and Court Staff to obtain and/or clarify CPIC entry details.
  • Process audit results from CPIC OPS Validation and Purge Reports.
  • Conduct internal audits on files for accuracy and compliance of CPIC Policy.
  • Provide information and assistance to other staff and partnering organizations regarding CPIC Policy and Department policy/procedures and compliance.

 
What you’ll bring to this role 
You will have experience and success in many of the following areas:

  • You have successfully completed Grade 12.
  • You have considerable related clerical experience; or direct experience and knowledge of these 5 competencies: attention to detail, communication, confidentiality, team work and time management, which may be considered.
  • Experience with PRIME, CPIC, and JUSTIN is considered an asset.
  • You support and promote a diverse, inclusive, healthy and engaging workplace.

  • You have the ability to effectively manage one’s time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently; work with minimal supervision.

  • You have the ability to memorize applicable system codes and procedures.
  • You have the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
  • You are able to pass and maintain a security clearance.

*The successful applicant must be able to work a non-standard work schedule of Monday – Friday with shifts alternating between 0800 – 1630 hours one week and 0930 – 1800 hours the following week.
