FACILITY TECHNICIAN

Permanent Full Time Position
Varying shifts including evenings, weekends and nights (37.5 hours per week)
 
G.R. Pearkes is seeking a self-motivated Facility Technician who will perform technical work relating to the repair, maintenance and operation of equipment and mechanical systems in GR Pearkes Recreation Centre.
 
Working closely with their supervisor, the Facility Technician oversees the maintenance and repair of the Centre. This includes the Ammonia Refrigeration Plant and associated systems, re-surfacing equipment, heating and air handling systems, and general facility areas. Additionally, the Technician will act as a role model and leader and provide guidance and instruction to facilities maintenance team.

Requirements include Grade 12 or equivalent; Fourth Class Power Engineering Certificate; three and a half (3.5) years of experience in related physical plant maintenance, recreation/commercial buildings; WHMIS certification valid within one year; Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence.
 
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
 
This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $39.35 per hour plus an excellent benefits package.
