Corporate Assurance Supervisor

We are looking for a Corporate Assurance Supervisor to be responsible for the direction, coordination, preparation and administration of internal audit activities, providing independent assurance that the City’s risk management, governance and internal control processes are operating effectively. Duties include, oversight of the full internal audit cycle, ensure all audits adhere to relevant standards, review reports with specific attention to clarity of recommendations, prepare reports and/or presentations for the Audit Committee and/or Council, and manage and execute a system of follow up audits.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, a CPA designation and have in depth knowledge of and experience with accounting standards (PSAS, GAAP) and a working knowledge of audit standards. Familiarity with the Community Charter/Local Government Act, Bylaws, Council policies and corporate policies and procedures, as well as be proficient with the MS Office Suite. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, teambuilding, and interpersonal skills to effectively supervise staff and build strong working relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
