Do you have a background in food service and thrive working in a fast-paced environment? Our Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services department is actively hiring for the position of Food Services Attendant (Prep Cooks) to work out of our Riverway Clubhouse. This position involves preparation and selling food and beverages, takes payments, helps with washing dishes and routine cleaning, and may assist with setting up and cleaning up for events. Performs related work as required.
This role involves heavy interaction with the public, and the ideal candidate will possess strong customer service abilities. Previous experience working in the service industry is an asset, along with experience operating Point of Sale cash registers. Food Services Attendants must be able to work as part of a team and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This position will require the ability to work evening and weekend shifts.
Qualifications include up to high school graduation plus some related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of use of equipment related to the work. Sound knowledge of health regulations and laws related to the work. Ability to perform simple clerical duties such as taking inventory, receiving cash and balancing cash to sales. Catering experience is an asset. Serving it Right and Food Safe Certificates are required.
