This auxiliary opportunity involves skilled painting and power washing work at the journeyman level involving the application of fundamental trade practices to a variety of painting tasks of some complexity. The Tradesman 2 - Painter performs a variety of decorating tasks in City facilities and performs related work as required, such as power washing.
Candidates must have completed Grade 12 supplemented by the completion of a recognized Trade Certificate of Qualification plus considerable general experience at the Journeyman level; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Only those applicants with a TQ certification in painting will be considered.
The candidate must possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of standard practices, methods, materials, tools, and practices used in brush and spray painting techniques. The incumbent will use brush, roller, and spray equipment to paint street traffic light standards, parking lot lines and buildings. The incumbent must also perform brush and spray painting techniques on a variety of wood and metal surfaces.
Please note that this summer work is weather dependent as the bulk of assignments are outdoors.
