COMMUNITY PROGRAMMER II – Disability Inclusion Services

Permanent Full Time Position

The Disability Inclusion Services Programmer II role works with staff to improve and increase access for children and youth in Saanich Parks, Recreation and Community Services camp programs. It builds relationships to community providers, seeks new funding streams, facilitates access for the Leisure Assistant Pass for adults, and seeks ways to develop adaptive and integrative programs for residents of all ages.

Requirements include a university degree in recreation, leisure studies or related field; three years of experience in related programming; satisfactory police information check and a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence.  The successful candidate will be required to work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends and evenings as required. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Preference is given to those who have a demonstrated history of experience serving persons with disabilities. As a component of the selection process, testing will be conducted. 

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $49.03 per hour and an excellent benefits package. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
