Parks and Trails Technician

We have an opening for the regular, full-time position of Parks and Trails Technician within our Strategic and Community Services Department. The successful candidate will have a diploma in horticulture, forestry or landscape construction and hold a valid BC driver’s license. The Regional District will support the successful candidate in their completion of any required certifications identified within the job description.
 
You are friendly and outgoing, with exceptional communication skills. You have excellent knowledge of risk assessment, inspection procedures, contract management, and project management. You are physically fit, able to work in adverse weather conditions and terrain, and have the skills to safely operate and maintain power tools and equipment.
 
Reporting to Manager, Parks and Recreation, the Parks and Trails Technician maintains and repairs the regional parks and trail systems directly and through service contracts to ensure a high standard and the safe use of the facilities and amenities by the public.

This is a regular, full-time position (35 hours/week) with a wage range of $33.42 to $38.40 per hour, depending upon experience and qualifications, as well as an extensive benefits package and generous compressed work schedule.
