Description:
The City of Port Moody offers the community a variety of skating lessons and hockey programs for students of all ages and abilities and we are looking for all levels of instructors.
We are seeking enthusiastic, energetic individuals who have a passion for teaching skating to children, adults and youth in our community. Previous experience in this field is a requirement.

Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years old to apply.

Candidates must be available to instruct during the summer, fall and winter. Please include your availability to work in your online application. The shifts available are as follows:
Summer through August:

• Monday - Friday: 8:30 am – 2:00 pm
• Saturday: 9:30 am - 1:30 pm
• Sunday :9:30 am - 1:30 pm

Fall/Winter – September to March:

• Shifts during the daytime, evening and weekends. Instructors must be available to work one weekend shift, Friday evening or Saturday.

Please note that employment with the City of Port Moody is subject to the receipt of a satisfactory police information check. This position will remain open until all positions are filled.

Basic Qualifications:

• Strong background in figure skating or hockey 
• Experience instructing skating lessons or hockey programs with a good understanding of progressions and learn to skate skills 
• Experience working with children 
• Sound judgment and decision making abilities 
• Ability to be culturally sensitive, creative, collaborative and resourceful 
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills 
• Emergency First Aid and CPR C or equivalent
