AQUATIC FITNESS INSTRUCTORS

Located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, West Vancouver is a vibrant community on the North Shore and home to parks, beaches, and to sports, recreation and arts amenities. We are seeking employees with a passion for public service who share our commitment to creating a complete, inclusive and livable community. Our dedicated staff deliver services, operate facilities and run the programs that enhance the well-being of our community.

Reporting to the Aquatics Program Coordinator, the ideal candidate is motivated, creative, energetic, and available to teach a variety of Aquatic Fitness classes at various times of the day during the week. Classes include introductory, mild, moderate, and deep water fitness classes, as well as arthritis rehabilitation classes, and general rehabilitation classes. Applicants will have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Hours and days of work will vary. 

Required Certifications include:

  • Fitness Theory
  • BCRPA Aquatic Fitness Module
  • Standard First Aid
  • CPR-C    


Additional beneficial training / certifications include:

  • BCRPA Third Age
  • Adapted Aquatics


The successful candidate will be required to supply a police information check and a copy of their credentials.

Position Status:
Non-Union – Casual

Hours of Work:
Hours and days of work will vary and may include early mornings, mid mornings, or evenings.

Rate of Pay:
$26.00 plus 4% in lieu of benefits
