We have an exciting opportunity to join our Information Technology department! The IT Training & Knowledge Management Lead is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining IT training and knowledge management strategies and frameworks supported by the appropriate tools. The position leads, plans, reviews and sustains the design of IT training and knowledge management solutions and develops and maintains a knowledge management framework for the IT department. This role is responsible for all IT training and knowledge management deliverables including strategy documents, needs analyses, templates and standards, learning materials, job aids, online resources and communications; ensuring business requirements are met by current learning trends. The role develops and maintains the standards and approaches for annual IT sustainment and all IT project related training; presenting approaches to key stakeholders, overseeing development of materials and planning deployment of training based on business requirements and using a Learning Management System; incumbent exercises considerable independent judgement and action in all aspects of the work, discussing the more complex problems with a manager who evaluates work performance in terms of the attainment of desired objectives. Provides direction and guidance to staff members including recruitment, performance management, training and coaching; conducts investigations and administers discipline; represents the department at grievance hearings, arbitrations and labour management meetings. Keep abreast of training trends, developments and best practices. Prepares various records, reports, correspondence and assessments related to the work. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include University degree at the Bachelor’s level in Computer Science, Information Technology, with certification in adult learning and education and 5 years of related experience in a learning environment with enterprise systems OR, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The role requires a thorough knowledge of learning management systems and current online learning and knowledge management tools and solutions; adult learning principles and curriculum development; experience with enterprise systems, documentation practices and standards; track record in planning, developing and executing successful technical training programs for large organizations. The role also requires the ability to assign, supervise and review the work of team members, establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts and provide ongoing advice and assistance on matters related to the work, communicate effectively orally and in writing. The role also requires skill in office computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
