PARKS WORKER II – CONSTRUCTION
2 Permanent Full Time Positions
The Parks Division (Construction Section) is seeking two permanent full time Parks Worker IIs to perform a variety of manual tasks in the construction and maintenance of park areas. The Parks Worker II in Construction performs a variety of carpentry and landscape construction tasks in the installation and structural maintenance of playgrounds, buildings, bridges, stairs, signs, furniture, parking lots, landscape areas, drainage, trails, and other parks related infrastructure. The Parks Worker II reads and interprets plans, construction details and specifications and assists with lay out for projects according to these documents.
Requirements include: Grade 12 or equivalent; three or more accredited courses in Landscape Construction, Carpentry or related field from a recognized post-secondary institution; one year of previous experience in the works of a Parks Division and a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence. Candidates with an equivalent combination or education and experience may be considered.
The successful candidates will work Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. depending on the season.
This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 positions with a wage of $34.15 per hour and an excellent benefits package. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
