The Municipal District (MD) of Bighorn is nestled in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, and is located less than an hour directly west of the City of Calgary, less than 30 minutes east of the Town of Banff, and just north-east of the Town of Canmore. There is an overall population of approximately 1,598 (2021 Federal Census), and the MD includes the hamlets of Benchlands, Dead Man’s Flats, Exshaw, Harvie Heights, and Lac Des Arcs. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), and serving as an integral member of the senior leadership team, the Director of Corporate & Community Services is responsible for leading the MD, and its internal and external stakeholders, in the areas of Finance, Administration, and Community Services, with a total MD budget of $6.2M. Currently, the Corporate & Community Services department consists of the Accounting Assistant, Taxation & Utilities, the Accounting Assistant, Reception, and the Community Services coordinator

As the Director of Corporate & Community Services, you will possess:

1. An accounting designation (CPA), or a relevant combination of education and experience gained in a complex and dynamic environment.
2. Knowledge of current financial practices, specifically those related to the public sector, municipal legislation, and relevant statutes.
3. Demonstrated experience in leadership, governance, strategic planning, organizational development, team building, customer service, and conflict resolution.
4. Strong computer skills.
