Position Summary:
Big Lakes County is looking for a Chief Administrative Officer who will advise Council on policies, legislative requirements, facilitate strategies, and provide strength to both Council and Administration with the ability to manage infrastructure development and service delivery while tending to astute fiscal management.

The Chief Administrative Officer has a well-rounded senior management team which includes the Director of Public Works, Director of Planning and Development, Director of Corporate Services, Director of Community & Protective Services, Executive Assistant, and Human Resources Manager.
This position would appeal to a leader, a great communicator, well versed in change management, and a relationship builder that can serve Council, Staff, and the Community.

Ideal Requirements include:
A Post-secondary degree /diploma in Public Administration/Business Administration/Commerce/Planning or other Municipal related areas combined with senior level leadership, and administrative experience including the management of significant human and financial resources. CLGM certification would be considered an asset.

Experience within a dynamic municipal setting combined with private sector experience is desirable. Candidates must be able to develop strategies, policies, service plans, project management and business plans. Managing financial resources, operating and capital budgets as well as working with other levels of government, including Federal, Provincial and First Nations will be invaluable.

Candidates must possess the ability to understand, interpret, explain, and apply local, provincial, and federal laws and regulations.

Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years practical Municipal Government experience preferably with some experience in private business or within a corporate environment.
