Position Overview 
The City of Kamloops is looking for an experienced, senior leader to join their team. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Corporate Services Director is a key member of the Corporate Leadership Team. The incumbent will provide inspiring leadership and a strategic focus in overseeing approximately 75 staff across the functional areas of Information Technology, Finance, Planning and Procurement, Legislative Services and Enterprise Risk Management. The ideal candidate will be recognized as a collaborative, engaging professional who is a critical thinker and has demonstrated success building solid relationships will all levels in an organization. The major responsibility of this position is to bring an informed opinion to senior management and City Council on all matters having a financial impact on the City, as well as Information Technology and Corporate Services matters and policy matters in general. This position is highly visible in the public and requires an exceptional level of cooperation and collaboration with others both within and external to the organization. Our ideal candidate will posses the following qualifications:

  • A University Degree in Public Sector Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or Commerce.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of senior level management experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial and budgeting systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate employees and to nurture innovation and cultural change.
  • Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA) and membership in a recognized accounting association is preferred.

 
This is a salary position with a performance-based step increase system. The City offers a comprehensive health, vision and dental package including generous vacation and an Earned Days Off program. Monday – Friday:
8:00am – 4:00pm (Summer)
8:30am – 4:30pm (Winter)
