We are seeking experienced Equipment Operators for temporary term assignments (6-12 months duration). An Equipment Operator II operates and maintains heavy mobile equipment according to competency standards, safety practices and regulations. These positions will also perform general laboring duties and manual work as needed.
- BC Driver’s Licence – Class 1 or 3 with Air Ticket
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Experience with Tandem Axle Truck, Skid Steer, Loader, Backhoe/Excavator and performing snow and ice control
- Experience performing general Labourer duties
- Excellent customer service, teamwork and communication skills
These are CUPE bargaining unit positions and offer an hourly rate of $30.94 plus 14% in lieu of vacation, benefits, statutory holidays and premiums. These temporary/term roles may lead to permanent employment with the City of Kelowna.
Hours of work: Varied, including Monday to Friday 7am to 3:30pm, Sunday to Thursday and Tuesday to Saturday 4am to 12:30pm. Weekend Standby may be required.
Please Note: A clear Criminal Record Check and Driver’s Abstract will be required.
