Finance Officer

The Opportunity:
The Town of Irricana is currently accepting applications for a Finance Officer.  Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, this position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Town’s finances, including:

  • Accounts payables and receivables
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Payroll and benefit administration
  • Assisting with budget preparation
  • Financial reporting and year-end
  • Annual audit support

The Wages & Benefits:
As a member of CUPE Local 37 (Financial Administrative Person 3), the Finance Officer is entitled to:

  • $35.31 per hour (2022 Rate)
  • 37.5 hours per week (Full-Time, Permanent)
  • Comprehensive benefits package (100% Employer Paid)
  • Group RRSP with dollar-for-dollar matching (Up to 10%)

The Right Candidate:

  • Completed post-secondary education related to financial management.
  • Relevant industry certification(s) in accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a municipal setting.
  • Experience working with Microsoft software and common financial software systems.  Experience working with Muniware preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting concepts and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify business processes and evaluate solutions.
  • Proven ability to work with numbers and financial records quickly and accurately while identifying trends and patterns.
  • Must be cleared by a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) Security Check.
