Engineering Operations - Labourers Construction & Utilities


The City of Delta’s Engineering Operations department services Delta’s three communities: Ladner, North Delta, and Tsawwassen. We are seeking reliable, self-motivated and flexible team players with experience in Municipal Infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be an individual that possesses significant knowledge and skills in the methods, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used in water, sewer and drainage related construction and maintenance work.
 
Duties and responsibilities of labourers working in our Construction and Utilities divisions include, but are not restricted to:

  • Sanitary & Storm Sewer Maintenance & Construction
  • Water System Maintenance & Construction
  • Trench Excavation & Rehabilitation
  • Pipe Installation
  • General Labouring & Cleanup
  • Other Related Duties as Required

 
Applicants are encouraged to highlight relevant experience in municipal infrastructure, construction, plumbing, and/or piping work, underground utilities and general labouring duties. Training or courses in Public Works are desirable for this position. A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence with a safe driving record is required as well as familiarity with driving pickup trucks or larger vehicles. In order to be considered for this position, candidates must submit a current Driver’s Abstract showing five years history along with their application. Applications submitted without a Driver’s Abstract will be deemed incomplete and will not be considered. Please have this document ready to upload when you apply. Successful candidates will be selected based on the experience and skills related to the job.
