Programmer I - Aquatics - District of Saanich



Permanent Full Time Position

Saanich Commonwealth Place is seeking a dynamic Aquatic Programmer I who is passionate about Aquatics to oversee community use, facility scheduling and contract program delivery. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills to support and mentor our dynamic Aquatics team and provide excellent service to the community. Key skills include organizational abilities, timeliness, strong customer service and problem-solving skills, adaptability, effective communication, and leadership.
Requirements include a two-year post-secondary diploma in recreation, leisure studies or a related field; two years’ experience in program planning and staff supervision; and a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector check.
Preference will be given to applicants with one or more of the following certifications (must be current)

  • National Lifeguard Certification (Waterpark Option)
  • Standard First Aid
  • CPR Level C
  • Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Instructor Trainer and Examiner
  • Lifesaving Society Lifesaving Instructor (LSI)
  • Lifesaving Society Instructor Trainer
  • Canadian Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer
  • First Aid Instructor

The successful candidate will work varying shifts based on program needs including evenings and weekends during times when programs are running (hours/shifts are subject to change).
This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $36.40 per hour and an excellent benefits package.
