What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
  • review, analyze and process applicants seeking qualification and registration under the Building Code
  • input data, and maintain an electronic registry
  • assess applications to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and procedures
  • provide program information, and respond to inquiries
  • process and account for the revenues collected with registration applications
  • prepare decision letters, licenses, certificates and reports

How do I qualify?
Technical Knowledge and Skills
  • You have knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply relevant sections of the Building Code and legislation (The Building Code Act, The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act).
  • You understand accounting and financial procedures to process and track revenue payments and prepare reports.
  • You have proficiency with office software and the ability to use and maintain databases.
 
Analytical, Organizational and Problem-Solving Skills
  • You have analytical skills and attention to detail to review and assess applications, and ensure accuracy, validity and completeness.
  • You have problem-solving skills to highlight areas of concern, identify significant issues and independently resolve discrepancies.
  • You have strong organizational skills to coordinate activities and work to tight deadlines.
 
Communication and Customer Service Skills
  • You demonstrate proficient verbal and written communication skills to provide detailed program information and explain complex legislation and technical details.
  • You have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to deal with sensitive issues independently in a demanding environment.
 
Salary Range: $998.71 - $1,221.77 Per Week

  • 1 Temporary, duration up to 12 months, 777 Bay St, Toronto, Toronto Region
