PROGRAM LEADER I – YOUTH SERVICES
Up to 6 Casual Positions
The District of Saanich, Community Services Division is seeking energetic, motivated individuals who possess the skills and experience to run a variety of youth programs. Experience planning, facilitating, and instructing one or more of the following areas will be an asset:
- LGBTQ2IA+ Drop in
- Indigenous partnership programs lunch time school activities cooking
- art or dance classes sports
- fitness or yoga
- swimming skating board games anime
- Dungeons & Dragons Club outdoor hikes and adventures
- or other general youth programming.
Candidates will demonstrate leadership, collaboration, and effective communication while working with participants, families, and supervisors. Program Leaders will provide the enjoyment, inclusion, flexibility, and safety of all participants by maintaining the program site, implementing safe practices, and leading well organized activities.

Requirements include completion of Grade 10; three months experience working with participants in a recreational or instructional setting; satisfactory Police Information Check with vulnerable sector check (PIC-VS); Emergency First-Aid and CPR-C. The ideal candidates will have experience working with youth and the ability to be inclusive and flexible to ensure a positive environment is created for all participants; demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain a high degree of enthusiasm and personal motivation. Experience working with people with behavioural or cognitive difficulties is an asset. The successful candidates will work varying shifts including weekends, evenings and nights (hours/shifts are subject to change).

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $21.73 per hour plus 13% in lieu of benefits. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
