This is the perfect career opportunity for an experienced communications professional with a collaborative work style and strong writing skills. You will have the opportunity to engage with diverse and talented professionals throughout the organization and community as you provide focused communications strategy and specialized support for the Town of Canmore’s diverse internal departments.

The Communications Advisor is a respected business partner that supports their portfolio of internal departments to develop targeted communication strategies, integrate the Town of Canmore’s online and social media presence, oversee brand image, and champion a range of critical public engagement activities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Creative communications, marketing, and media relations support
  • Lead diverse portfolio of internal departments
  • Public engagement programs and initiatives
  • Oversee advertising, marketing, and design activities
  • Brand management
  • Writing, production, and publication design


Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in related field such as Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or Marketing
  • Education, training, or experience with web, social marketing, social media, print, or broadcasting


Experience

  • 5+ years direct experience in communications, public relations, or related field
  • Experience leading design and delivery of communications strategies
  • Experience collaborating and coaching diverse groups
  • Superior skills in writing, design, verbal communications, and public presentations


Salary and Benefits
$41.99 to $44.33 per hour to start

  • Standard 35-hour work week & EDO-Earned Day Off program (i.e., This position works a 5-day work week earning 1 day off in a 3-week cycle)
