Our Engineering department is seeking diligent, hardworking individuals to join the team as a Watchperson. A Watchperson does routine rounds of buildings and yards, keeping an eye out for prowlers or damage being caused to property and equipment. This position involves interacting with individuals trying to gain access outside of regular hours, checking credentials, answering calls and recording complaints or emergency information, transmitting radio messages to field crews, maintaining simple records and issuing fuel or supplies when needed. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications include up to high school graduation, supplemented by some experience related to the work or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The ideal candidate will be capable of following instruction and working alone or with minimal supervision. Knowledge of the different municipal sites and regulations surrounding their entry is required, along with the ability to assist the public and internal staff courteously and to produce simple records.

We require individuals to work rotating shifts of weekends and holidays, plus Monday to Friday night dispatch coverage as needed.
