Saanich Commonwealth Place is recruiting a Technical and Building Service Supervisor to perform supervisory and manual work ensuring effective and efficient on-going maintenance of mechanical equipment and custodial services for municipal buildings. This position is responsible for overseeing all cleaning and maintenance work, developing and maintaining a preventative building and mechanical equipment lifecycle program as well as supervision and training of employees.
The ideal candidate thrives in a team environment where multitasking is required and accuracy and attention to detail are essential. You will have a proven track record with problem-solving, building positive relationships and demonstrated experience with supervising teams. A strong customer focus and the ability to be flexible in a changing work environment are equally important.
Requirements include Grade 12 or equivalent; Pool Operators I and II Certification; four years of experience in physical plant maintenance in recreation/commercial buildings including swimming pools and one year of experience in a supervisory capacity; Fifth Class Power Engineering certificate; WHMIS certification valid within one year and a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The successful candidate will work varying shifts, 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility to adapt to operational need.
