AQUATIC INSTRUCTOR II
Up to 10 Casual Positions
Saanich Commonwealth Place is seeking multiple certified Aquatic Instructors who will be responsible for lesson management of our Canadian Red Cross Water Safety and Life Saving entry level programs. This includes planning and preparing assigned programs; instructing assigned classes; evaluating participants; record keeping and public relations. The successful candidates will also ensure participants are taught according to safety and skill standards outlined by Saanich and Aquatic agencies.
Requirements include completion of Grade 10; current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Award; eligibility to obtain the Current Life Saving Society Canada Instructor Award, or equivalent; over three months, up to and including six months experience and a satisfactory police information check with vulnerable sector check. Successful candidates will be required to work varying shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends (hours/shifts are subject to change).
These are C.U.P.E. Local 2011 positions with a wage of $23.64 per hour plus 13% in lieu of benefits. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
