The City of Campbell River is seeking a full-time Engineering Technologist III

The job:
As part of the integrated water services team, you will work in a fast-paced and customer focused environment. Working with the Water Manager, you will be actively involved in the design, project management, contract administration and construction supervision functions related to the maintenance, rehabilitation, replacement and new construction of the City’s water system and infrastructure. In addition, you will help develop, coordinate and implement performance and business improvement strategies and programs, such as unidirectional flushing, infrastructure condition assessments, and other preventative maintenance programs; administer contracts and manage small projects; write technical reports; review engineer drawings for new development; draft procedures, risk management plans, and policies; and input data to asset management and GIS databases. Work is performed both in the office and field environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making and communication skills.
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant technical experience (i.e. analysis, design, research) in water and/or wastewater utilities within the last ten (10) years.
  • Two (2) year diploma in Civil Engineering or relevant field such as water, wastewater or environmental technology from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Be registered or eligible for registration as an AScT with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC or other self-regulated professional association relevant to the position.
  • Possess and maintain a valid BC Class 5 Drivers’ Licence.

The current rate of pay for this permanent, full-time, CUPE bargaining unit position is $41.76 per hour based on a 40-hour work week and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
