The Engineering, Parks and Environment Department (Engineering Operations) requires two temporary full-time Labourer 1 employees for approximately 3-4 months.
You may be assigned to any of the following areas:

  • the construction and maintenance of sidewalks and roads;
  • the maintenance of water, storm and sanitary sewer utilities; the collection of solid or green waste and/or,
  • general landscape, horticulture and arboriculture duties, turf maintenance tasks and/or natural areas maintenance.

You must have related experience and the demonstrated ability to perform heavy physical labouring/ manual work.  A valid Class 5 Drivers License is required. A Class 3 License with air brake endorsement is an asset.  Applicants with education leading to a trades qualification, degree, diploma or certificate will be given preference. 
$29.40 per hour (January 2021 rates)
Hours of Work:
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday
