In this exciting role you will be responsible for technical and administrative engineering work assisting staff with administering assigned development projects, outlining engineering requirements, reviewing designs and plans for municipal services and conducting periodic site inspections of properties. In addition, you will prepare and maintain a variety of records, reports, correspondence and documents related to the work.
You will utilize your communication and relationship building skills as you provide direction to a wide-variety of internal and external contacts. Your attention to detail and technical skills will assist you in reviewing and interpreting development drawings for technical accuracy and conformance with applicable municipal bylaws, standards and related specifications. Basic knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices as applied to development project design, specifications as well as land and building servicing requirements along with knowledge of municipal engineering and planning principles, standards, policies, procedures, bylaws and Acts will make you an asset to the team.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Completion of Grade 12;
- A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent related diploma/ degree from a recognized educational institute;
- A minimum of six (6) months related experience in a civil engineering environment;
- A valid BC Driver’s License; and
- Eligibility for membership in the Association of Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of B.C. preferred (Graduate Technologist/Technician or Associate Membership acceptable).
This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $34.09 to $40.10 per hour.
