Director of Finance
Middleton is a regional service center, with a population of 1,800, and a surrounding population of 4,300, located in the beautiful Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. The Town is rich in history and prides itself in being “the Heart of the Valley”, with friendly people and a significant volunteer base.
The Town is seeking an experienced Director of Finance who can bring strong financial and management leadership for the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Council and staff in an organization with a 2020-21 operating budget of $3.98 million and a capital budget of $2.75 million. The preferred candidate would bring knowledge of accounting processes, experience in managing financial systems and staff, and experience in providing advice to decision makers on a regular basis.
The Director of Finance is a key member of the management team and assists the CAO and Directors with human resource issues, labour management activities, liaison with the community and outside organizations, and development of the organization.
