We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Administrative Assistant to join our Police Services Division. Reporting to the Police Services Manager, the successful incumbent will be responsible for providing senior level administrative assistance to the Police Services team and RCMP senior management.
The successful incumbent to this position is highly collaborative and values the comradery of teamwork in getting the job done. Working within the Public Safety building, this position will be responsible for providing front-facing customer support and information; explaining and interpreting applicable policies, rules, regulations, and procedures as required; handling of confidential and sensitive information related to policing matters; scheduling and coordination of meetings including minute taking and transcription of confidential statements; and file management. Departmental expenditures including invoice and purchase order preparation; reconciliation of actual to planned spending; monthly variance reporting; and providing onboarding and orientation support to new employees specific to Public Safety are also accountabilities of this role.

The ideal candidate should possess 3-5 years’ progressive experience together with post secondary courses in Business or Office administration or other applicable field.
The candidate should have intermediate Microsoft Office skills as well as the ability to learn financial systems and reporting practices.
Note: This position requires an enhanced security clearance prior to employment being confirmed. This process could take 6-12 weeks to complete.
A CUPE hourly rate of $28.00 - $32.90 and a comprehensive benefits package is being offered.
