This is technical and clerical work related to the gathering and preparation of diverse information relative to a variety of municipal planning matters. An incumbent researches, collects, analyzes and reports to a superior on specific aspects of planning projects such as Development Applications, Community Plans, Zoning, Policy Development and matters of a similar nature; assembles a variety of data from available sources to assist professional staff in their reply to specific requests for information and in their preparation of reports; conducts site visits and field research to facilitate the preparation of statistical and graphic presentations. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include completion of grade 12 supplemented by technical courses plus sound related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of the bylaws, department policies, practices and procedures governing the work performed. Sound knowledge of graphic presentation methods and techniques applicable to municipal planning work. Ability to perform work with minimal supervision; to explain and apply various bylaws and procedures and to assist various contacts on matters related to the work; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts. Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia is required.
